Yeah, I like Ben Folds, so what?
It is true, I like him, I liked him about a year and a half ago when I did not even really know who he was. I mean, everyone knows that song Brick, right? It is the one that is about how he and his girlfriend had to get an abortion when they were in high school, according to the Ben Folds Live Album.
It was a good song, and then I found Philosophy, which I don't really know what it means, I am not good with lyrics, better with the sounds, not the words. That is why sad SOUNDING songs affect me more than actual sad songs. So, then my brother comes home from his counseling job, and on the way to Tysons for the Mac OS X 10.2 Jaguar Launch Party which he was very nice to go to take me to, he had the latest album Rockin' The Subrubs. I really liked it, and now, I have 85 songs that Ben Folds has done from his solo self, to his five self, to his bens self, and his fear of pop self, and I think that is pretty much it.
So, today, Ben's second EP this year, Sunny 16, is out. And, of course, I got it from the iTunes Music Store. I would have to say that the top two songs of the first EP,Speed Graphic, are give judy my notice and protection. (Be forewarned, those links to the songs require Quicktime, come on, it is a good idea if you don't already go it). I hope to see that this EP, and the next, and the full length that is said to be coming out sometime early next year, produce such stellar songs as this one did.
FINAL NOTE: Sunny 16 at the iTunes Music Store does not include "Songs of Love," which I am pissed about.
EVEN MORE FINAL NOTE: the iTunes Music Store now has ALL the songs on it, and one can buy the whole album as one. This makes the FINAL NOTE, well, false
