Kill Bill
Q.Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume One is coming out on October 10th, which is by the way two days before my birthday. After seeing the Trailers, and readingTime Magazine's Article on Uma, who is the star of this movie, and now seeing Resevoir Dogs a week or so ago, I would have to say that I am excited. Seeing the shots from the trailer of the battle between Uma's character and Lucy Liu and her dudes, it just looks cool. (side note, Tarantino used no CG effects in the fights, he says he hates the "new school" stuff) This film has been an idea since 2001, and been in the making since 2001, yet has been set back because of production problems. Now everything is on the right track for Volume 1 to be released on October 10th, and Volume 2 to be released on February 20th, 2004. I mean, come on, the movie looks cool, and Tarantino is a good director, sometimes too smart I think, but still good. Let's go see it.
Kill Bill 2
It was good, and different. Less fighting, more talking. It was sweet, and comical.

Yeah, I'm pretty excited for this. Harry Knowles gave it a good review, I'm always down for some QT. Fuck what other people said, Jackie Brown was cool. Tarrantino's writing is great, and apparently he started writing Kill Bill in like 1994, which was like his prime. Plus Uma Thurman is foxy.

I'm curious about it. Either Tarantino made a VERY good film, or he's just decided to copy the Japanese/Chinese style of filmmaking and impress it upon the American public.
In which case, the people are going to be confused as hell on Friday.
If he didn't, however, and he can trick people into watching the (asian) film AND enjoy it...he will truly be the greatest geek-filmmaker on the face of the earth.
P.S. DCoh: rent Dead or Alive. I know I've said this and I know you've seen the trailer, but it's good. You need to see a man full of ramen be shotgunned, and then explode into a Ramen ball.

I saw the beginning of Dead or Alive, and yes, I saw the dude full of ramen get shot, and I saw the guy doing the HUGE line of CracK! (thank you j.hoffman)
It just does not seem to interest me that much... you know?

Ah yes. Shook him all night long. I saw Kill Bill yesterday. In order not to give anything away, read the Washington Post review of it if you want a balanced view.
