Initial Reactions to the Fox 2004 Fall Season
Well, a week or two (2) has gone by and I have had a chance to form some opinions as a person, and as a person I have listed them here for you.
the OC- The first episode did a good job of starting the season rolling. But, however, I would have pushed in an episode before that where Seth is unknown to be known where he is, and then at the end of the episode he calls from Luke's house and then the next episode happens. The second episode was good, and I had myself saying "damn, damn, damn" a few times which is always a good sign. They have some good three story lines going, Summer+Seth, Ryan+Marisa, and Caleb's story. Who knows what twists will come, whateves.. the Oc is going to be good this season.
Arrested Development- Dude, the first episode was a little,,, weak? No, I think the Blue Man Group thing is a little weird. And I mean they needed to get the season rolling, so they did a good job there, but the Blue Man Group? I just don't like the idea of one of your characters always being covered in blue. It is alarming. After seeing the second, episode, however, having Tobias in blue led to some funny moments of him sneaking around. The story lines are great. The show is going to the tops
The Simpsons- The first episode was OK, as the last season was, but it was not a regular episode and I never like the Treehouses of Horrores. Yet, the second episode was good, it was duel story lines, good jokes.... but, are they going to keep that new kitchen? Or in the next episode are they going to default it to the normal kitchen? Quandaries.
Malcolm in the Middle- Oh my dear ghod, did they have to make every moment of dialouge four times as long as it really needed to be? Those scenes just went ON and ON and ON, never OFF... The second episode, the parts I saw, were good, and no Malcolm.. Hal is a great character, and the situations Dewey gets into are good...... good show.solid.... bring me more episodes.
All in all, the FOX Fall 2004 line-up is sweet and solid (like a rock... Iraq?) and I look forward to the coming weeks where King of the Hill is never aired because of Football (not Soccer)
