Abandoned (Lost - 3.6)
This week, a CHARACTER DIES (not a spoiler because it was published by damn ABC) and we follow the Tallies and the Fuselagers. However, what happened to the hatch people? Also, the first Official LOST podcast! Let's move on with Abandoned (a.k.a. The Hunt), and as usual, spoilers ahead.
So, this episode was about... well, what was it about? Following the two groups of survivors meet. So, this episode was really about Shannon and her need to be taken seriously, in both flashbacks and on the island. Again, we see Wet Walt. I mean, seriously, think about it, he cannot always be dripping wet, everytime we see him. And, he is speaking backwards. It really isn't Walt, however considering that Sayid also sees him, we must believe that it is some of the island's spirituality working, or something from the Hanso corp?
In the flashbacks, we got to see that Jack had a huge hand in Shannon and Boone's being on the island: he made a decision between saving Shannon's father and saving his future wife (or ex-wife now, we guess) and therefore set Shannon on a spiral towards Australia. In fact, how much did Jack do? He got Sawyer deported, indirectly, by indirectly getting Jack's father to go to Sydney and therefore meet Sawyer in a bar and ultimately get deported. What else did Jack do?
So, the Taillies. Ana Lucia is a B, and she totally messes everything up. We get nice little clues at to what will happen next week: people being taken, Mr. Eko not speaking, and the parts from the teaser from next week shows Ana Lucia sad or something like that..... GAH!!!!! She is just a B. So, She kills Shannon, yes, she kills Shannon, and it is not going to be good for anyone, you know? Tensions will be tight!
By the way, Shannon tonight did her best acting of all the show. Sadly, it was her last, but also her best. She found her character just before she died. Too bad, because you never want to see a character you like die.
Where was Jack, Kate, and Sun this week? Probably chilling in the hatch. The hatch, yes, the hatch. That is what is important about this island. Where is the French lady? What is the cable from the beach? What are the other hatches for? Why has the Dharma Initiative been forgotten by people? It seems like LOST likes to not mention things for a third of a season and then hit it up again to surprise people. Which leads me to the LOST podcast.
ABC has launched a well produced Podcast for the show. The podcast features some dude leading it, some interviews with characters, and then producers answering questions. I really like it, it was very enjoyable, not just because I am obsessed with the show, but because it is good. The best part was The Producers talking about their plans for the show.
They explained it as they know they want to go across the country, but they don't have the exact route planned out yet. If they want to see more of the North, they'll drive through Wall Drug. If not, they may stay South and follow that. Considering what feels right, they'll do that. Things are planned, but improvisation is allowed. They also talked about a soundtrack to the show, which I would just eat up.... delicious!
So, next week, we find out what happened on the other 48 days, and it is going to be awesome. I was always thinking that they may just start the season over and go follow them all all season, that would be NUTz....
