"I am fairly ambivalent about New York."
See that will get them because they want to be loved or hated but they don't want nobody to give a fuck.

please distinguish between "ambivalent" and "fairly ambivalent"

Fuck you, Goldfarb.

Posted by: DHI at October 12, 2005 01:39 AM

two can play the nitpicking-asshole game.

Redundancy is not the same as inaccuracy, douchebag.

Posted by: DHI at October 12, 2005 01:55 PM

the issue is not redundancy so much as meaninglessness. "fairly" is not repeating information; in this context it conveys no information at all.

anyway, the target of the nitpicking is beside the point, and i wasn't just referring to the protest thing...carping on trivial details of language is a well-established MO of yours.

not that i have any real objection, but like the man said, don't dish it out if you can't take it.

The point is there is no misinformation for you to care about it.

Also, Eli's mom will be giving out free blowjobs this weekend starting Friday at noon in the alley between Oliver and Northampton (between Nevada and Broad Branch). Stop by before it's too late!

Posted by: asfd at October 12, 2005 11:06 PM

Yo I always allowed links in my comments but nobody else did.

Posted by: DHI at October 12, 2005 11:57 PM

Not that anyone is reading the comments of a post two weeks old, but I'd defend the use of "fairly" simply because it enhances the rhythm of the sentence by breaking up the otherwise abrupt and awkward sound produced by having two "am"s right next to each other.

Yeah I mean that's pretty much why I did it.

The Astros have been in even worse shape, using three starters with less than two years of major-league experience. Signing Clemens to go with right-hander Roy Oswalt and left-hander Andy Pettitte again gives them a legitimate Big Three once again. If Clemens, after several minor-league tuneups, proves anywhere near as good as he was last season, he will give the team precisely the lift it needs.
